HI, I’m Bill Morefield.  I’m the director for the Communications (phones, network, video, computer servers) and User Services (IT helpdesk) at a Community College in East Tennessee.  I’ve also consulted in computer networks and the web for more than six years.  I also spend way too much time and energy pursuing photography.  I’m also successfully balancing the world of the PC and the Mac and own both.

  1. Hello, I’ve gone through your post on how to fix a lightroom catalogue but it has been not god for me, I wonder if you could help me or send me in the right direction at least. I had a dynamic drive which was invalid, long story short I got the info back by Hex editing the drive, at some point the drive containing my OS got damaged and had to reinstall the OS with another drive, as the original system drive was unable to be re-formated. the catalog files should not have been modified in any way, seems like the messing around with the drive letters and the re installing the OS is the reason for not being able to open the catalogs, although the drive letters have been restructured as previously. Any ideas?

  2. Unfortunately no. Drive letters changing should really cause issues with the catalog in my experience. The catalog might just be too damaged for this process to fix. If you have the backups, you might try one of those.
